English Language Challenge

Finality I´m finishing English 3. I have liked very much this subject because I have learned very much. Every Thursday, I and my classmate write in our blogs. Every week we write about different topics: a day to remember,  my favorite band/singer, an expert on your field, my best vacation place, a photograph and my favorite movie. It´s very interesting. I have learned every much with this activity.

I think that to learn English  is very important for the Chilean society, because it´s universal language. So that´s why I like that subject is in the university. But, I think that in the university there are good and bad teacher. And it´s very terrible. For example, Miss Rosa Zagal is a teacher very good,  so that´s why I like go at her class and I learn every much. But my teacher of English 2 was bad teacher, she was discriminatory and very disagreeable.

I want to learn English, but I need to be improved very much aspects of my English. For me is very difficult listen, talk, write and read in English jaja. For me, English is a challenge. But, I know that one day I´ll learn English. I need much sacrifice. My plan for to learn English in my holidays is to do listening and read books and papers in English. I want to talk with an American friend for web cam, too.

Outside the English class, I´m not using my English. Because we every time we in the university do group work, so other classmate read in English and they translate papers. It´s bad, but we have little time for do work.

A day to remember

A day to remember is the day of my graduation of school. It was a December day, 2010. It was a  very important day for me because I finished school and closed a cycle in my life. I had been in my school with my classmate during twelve years. So that´s why I love my ex classmate and my ex school.

My graduation was fantastic. There were children presentation, they danced and sang. Some classmates did their talent on the stage, too. And, my teachers gave  different awards: best students, best sporty, best artists, best classmate, etc.  The parents shared, too. They gave the diploma at their children.

Also that day I received an award because I was the best student of my generation. I didn´t know who was the best student. So that´s why I was very happy. I received money too. I paid my enrollment to university with that money. 

My family was there that day, too. They accompanied me. And after the graduation ceremony we went to eat Chinese food to celebrate. 

At night, we had gala dinner. But I hated that party because it was very boring. Nevertheless, that day was perfect for me. 

My favorite band

My favorite band Soda Stereo. Soda Stereo was created in 1982 when  Gustavo Cerati, Zeta Bosio and Charly Alberti met. Their type of music is Rock Latino. Their first show went in Buenos Aires in a discotheque. Soda Stereo was the most popular band in Latin America. Their music was listened by million of persons in a lot countries.

In 1997 Soda Stereo got separated permanently, but their members stayed in music. In September 4th, 2014 Gustavo Cerati died, after he had been  in coma for four years. His death was sad for a lot people.

But I love this band. I like it very much because I knew their song when I was a girl. My mother listened to this music every day and this made me happy. Also, I liked their style of music and look. I sang "Persiana America" and "Profugos" all day. My mother has photos of my shows. I wanted to marry Cerati.

Now, I like a lot songs: Sobredosis de TV, Cae el sol, Corazón delator, etc. But my favorite song is "Ella usó mi cabeza como un revólver".I like to think what there is behind the lyrics.

My grandfather: An Expert on mechanic of cars.

I admire at my grandfather, his name is Guillermo Osorio. He´s a expert in mechanic of cars, but he didn´t study in university. He learned the mechanics of cars when he was  adolecent.

He born in La Florida. He had five sisters, he was the minor. He has worked since very small because his family was very poor. He worked in different trades. 

When he was fifteen years his uncle invited him to work in a mechanical of cars workshop. Guillermo loved trade since this moment. 

When he was twenty years made his small mechanical of cars workshop in La Florida. He was very happy because he reached his dream. 

At present, he has an  enormous mechanical of cars workshop in Colina. He has repaired since small cars and bicycle until gigantic truck. He has faithful clients because his work is good. He is great. 

I love and admire very much at my grandfather because he is a beautiful person and a earnest man. I think that his mane shouldn´t to be forgotten. 

My favorite holiday

The summer of last year (2014) I went with my boyfriend and friends at south of Chile. My friend what went with me are: Sebastián, Daniela, Alejandra and Pablo. We idea was to arrive to Chiloé, but all could´t. We visited Los Angeles, Pucón, Villarica and Valdivia.

The travel began in Los Angeles. We were at home´s grandfather of Alejandra. He was very nice with us. Every morning, he made breakfast for all. We travel at near place at Los Angles as Santa Bárbara and Nacimiento.

After We went at  Pucón and Villarica. The time was very bad, besides some days we slept in the forest. We were spent cold. But It was a beautiful experience because we visited at lake Villarrica and we knew the different reality what are Villarica and Pucón.

Finally, We travel at Valdivia. I love Valdivia because is a beautiful city and the valdivianos are friendly people. We went at Mercado, museums, Universidad Austral de Chile and its enormous  botanical garden and casino. We knew different island as Corral and Teja. In corral we drank very beer and ate  delicious kuchen.

After of Valdivia, I and my boyfriends follow to travel alone and us friends came back to Santiago. Right next to we travel to Puerto Varas.

This holiday was very fantastic for me because I knew a very beautiful place of Chile, also because I was with people important for me.

This is my favorite photograph. On  it is my boyfriend and me. We are in Salto del Petrohué in Puerto Varas. This is an place wonderful. We went on  holiday in south of Chile. We idea were to arrive to Chiloé, but we spend all money.

 This photograph was taken  for Coke, a friend. I and my boyfriend went alone, but we met at Coke and his girlfriend in Salto del Petrohué. The meeting was casual, but we were very happy. 

It shows a landscape beautiful: the volcano Osorno, a forest and the river. It shows us, too. In this day we were very happy because we had been waiting with anxious know this place. And it was magic.

The photograph is very important for me because that vacations was the best of my life. This photograph recaptures all emotions that I lived. 

I recommend to know Puerto Varas, in particular Salto del Petroé because it is a unforggetable place and the southern people is very friendly. 

Dallas Buyers Club

My favorite movie is "Dallas Buyers Club" . This movie is about a homophobic cowboy what he gives virus VIH. This man discovers that the medical treatment is a experiment, so he look for alternative treatment. For it, he decides to travel to Mexico whit your new friends Rayon. And he changes in trafficker of alternative medicine. The story takes place Dallas, a city of the United States. There live Matthew Woodroof (McConaughey). He is the principal actor. He is a homophobic cowboy,drug addict, ladies man and very sexist. But he knows at Rayon (Jared Leto) a transvestite what she has VIH, too. And they do (se hacen) good friends. The doctor Eve Saks ( Jennifer Garner) helps them. My favorite part is when Woodroof accept at Rayon. Woodroof was very homophobic. I would dislike the people different. But when he knows at Rayon, Woodroof has what learn to value him, because Rayon is a person beautiful. In one moment Woodroof help at Rayon when a young pérsons would discriminate against in a supermarket. I love this part because It´s very emotional. I don´t change anything in the movie because It has good direction and good actions.

My Favorite Piece of Technology is television

My favorite piece of technology is television. It is great. I have it since I was a little girl. My dad gave me my first television when I was four years old. It was pink. Actuality I have a smart TV. It´s very large. I bought it with my salary. I have black and white TV, too. 

 On it, I watch every movie and different programs: "My name is...", "Sacred Culture", "Wild Culture", "Taboo" , etcetera. I play on it, too. I use my television every day because I watch movies at night and I watch  "Telenoticias" in the mornings. It´s very useful for me because it informs  me and entertains me. 

I think that my life without it would be very different because I would have other entertainment and I would inform myself with other means. 

My Subjects

Hi classmates. In this post I'm going to write about me, hehehe. First of all, in this season I only have subjects of three areas of psychology: sporting, legal and clinical. 

 
In this moment, I'm taking extracurriculars activities that I are doing me happy: swimming and zumba. In the first, I go university's swimming pool because swimming relax me a lot. In the second, Zumba is a very good exercise to body and mind. And I believe that a healthy lifestyle is very necessary.

Finally, my expect from this new academic period is know other areas of psychology like, por example, the sporting psychology and the systemic theory of psychology. I really hope can achieve new knowledge.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Génesis Moya. I study psychology in the Universidad de Chile. I´m in fourth grade. I come from Colina. But I live in Santiago with my best friends, her name is Alejandra. I don´t live in Colina because it´s an area very distant of my university. I dislike to live in Santiago because it´s a city very contaminate and noisy.

My hobbies are to swim and to cook. I love to swim because it´s sport very complete and interesting. Also I love to cook with my mother. We cook cakes every weekend. 

My weaknesses in English are listening and thinking in English, every time I want to translate. My expectations for this class are to understand what I listen in English.
